Lineage II Races

When the globe was broken by Gran Kain and Einhasad, the universe was created. Einhasad and Gran Kain coupling produced a number of lesser gods, who through their mother's assistance created many of the races who rule the world today. Einhasad created the spirits that would be life, and the lesser gods used these spirits to create the races. Living in harmony with the races created from the ether, the world lived in peace until the time of the great war, brought on by Gran Kains coupling and betrayal of Shilen.

Races Created by the Gods

Each of the lesser gods created life using their powers and the spirits created by their mother Einhasad. Shilen created the elves from water, Paagrio made the orcs from fire, Maphr instilled life into the dwarves from earth, and Sayha created the Arteias from wind.

Jealous of Einhasad's work, Gran Kain created a final race in his own image, the race of Humans. Gran Kain was the god of Destruction, not creation, and was forced to build humans from the left overs of the other races. The result was that Humans turned out to be weak, stupid, sly, and cowardly fit only to serve the whims of the other races.

Races born of the ether

In addition to the races created by the gods, upon the shattering of the shard parts of the ether also scattered the universe to create forms of their own. Of these, the Giants were the greatest of creatures blessed with great strength, wisdom, and a strong grasp of magic. These Giants ruled over the dominion of the earth serving the gods and delagating tasks to the god-created races.

Races born of hatred

One final group of races were created through the coupling of Shilen and Gran Kain. While pregnant, Shilen was found out and cast aside by her angered Mother but also betrayed by Gran Kain who chose to return to Einhasad and leave Shilen on her own. As a result, when Shilen gave birth it was to creatures formed through hatred and curses on the gods themselves. Of these the Dragons were the strongest of Shilen's offspring who soon made war on the gods themselves leading an army of Shilen's other children of demons.
