Long ago, before memory and history, there was a globe that contained all. Within this globe, two great forces developed, one of dark and the other of light. By uniting, the two forces were able to combine their strength and shatter the globe of their imprisonment. In shattering the globe, the universe was released and two supreme gods were created; Gran Kain the god of those things dark and Einhasad the god of those things Light.
In might the two gods created were equal, but in powers they were as night is to day. Einhasad was the female god embued with the powers of creation, life, and those thing pure. Gran Kain the male god held power over those thing tainted such as destruction and death. If there powers were however set, their wills were not and there were times that the gods unwisely attempted to use the powers of the other for their own devises.
When Einhasad used her powers to create the life essense of the races on the mortal world, Gran Kain became jealous and created a race of his own and in his own image. Unfortunately, unlike Einhasad, Gran Kain was forced to use the resources left over from the creation of the other races with disasterous results. Instead of the powerful race Gran Kain was hoping to create, Gran Kain created the race of humans who were weak, stupid, sly, and cowardly. Humans were worthly only to server as slaves to the other mortal races and their creation was the seed that would ultimately destroy the peace on the mortal planes created by Einhasad.
If Gran Kain was fallable in creating the seed by delving into the powers that did not belong to him, Einhasad completed Kain's work by attempting to use powers not belonging to her. When the giants angered Einhasad by stepping into her dominion by using their magic to try to create life, her vengance was swift, unyielding, and were it not for the interevention of Gran Kain, would have resulted in the complete extinction of the race of Giants. Without the Giants, a genesis creature, to maintain the balance in the mortal planes, the races were left to their own devices and the war of the races began.
