Lineage II Giants

When Einhasad and Gran Kain shattered the globe and created the universe, shards of Ether (the spirit that made up the globee) spread through the universe and created what are known as "Genesis Creatures". The giants were the greatest of all genesis creatures, gifted with greate wisdom, intelligence, strength and consequently the use of magic. Greatful to Einhasad and Gran Kain because they were responsible for the creation of the giant race, the Giants promised to worship the two gods and watch over the earth.

Seeds of betrayal

During the war of the gods between Shilen's children and the proper gods, the state of the earth was left uncertain. The Giants and other races watched in terror as the strong forces clashed creating thunder and lighting in the sky. After the war ended, many of Shilen's demon children fled from the heavens to the earth and the underworld was created by Shilen.

After the war had ended, instead of finding stabilization, the absense of Shilen to rule over the water spirits (and incompetence of Eva to take her place), resulted in the great floods. Continents were covered with water and all living creatures flocked to higher ground where there was pandemonium due to lack of space. All living creatures both on continents and in the oceans were suffering and the Giants took it upon themselves to petition the gods for help. The petition worked and Eva was forced to take control, but not before great damage was done including a rattling of the giants' faith in the gods.

The Loss of Faith

As a result of the recent plagues on the earth, the giants began to doubt the competence and power of the gods. Gran Kain had shown great stupidity in creating the lowly human race, his affair with Shilen had plunged the world into chaos during the wars in the sky, Eva couldn't maintain order in the waters, and the underworld had been created and many demons released. The giants had lost their faith.

Coupled with their loss of faith, the giants also overestimated their prowess. They were able to go freely to the god's palace, they could use magic to lift palaces into the air just like the gods, they were able to prolong their lives to virtual immortality, and increasingly they began to think their powers equaled the gods.

The Challenge of the Giants

Overcome with arrogance, the giants began preparation to bring war up to the heavens. In doing so, they started modifying living organisms to make the new forms of life that would be their army. Assembling their army as such, they soon hoped to do what Shilen, her 6 dragons, and a army of demons could not; conquer heaven and replace the gods.

The End of Giants

What was unknown to the giants was that the gods were fully aware of their preparations and when the giants attempted to tamper with and create new life, they angered the true mother of creation, Einhasad. So great was Einhasad's fury, that she took up Gran Kain's Hammer of Despair and in one single swing she crushed the race of giants almost into oblivion. Those that were missed in the initial strike, Einhasad began to hunt down and burn to death one by one with bolts of lighting.

Gran Kain's Intervention

The remaining giants as one turned and prayed to Gran Kain, the only one able to save their existence. After many trials, the deaths of more giants, and the eternal imprisonment of the remainder, Gran Kain was able to convince Einhasad that her vengence was complete.

The Giants Today

As far as is known, those remaining of the race of giants are imprisoned on a narrow and barren strip of land where they must forever repent for their sins.
